What's an XML sitemap?
An XML sitemap helps search engine bots find, crawl, and index pages on the site. It a must have!
What is a robots.txt file?
A robots.txt is a text file webmasters create to instruct robots (typically search engine robots) how to crawl and index pages on their website.
What is a 301 redirect?
A 301 redirect tells search engine spiders that a page of content has permanently been moved to another location. If you need to move a page temporary, then you can use a 302 redirect.
How long does it normally take to see SEO Results?
Usually it takes from weeks to months, before your site is fully indexed, but even though your site is indexed - in may be ranked on page 3 in Google, Bing or Yahoo searches etc.
New website owners often call us in panic and say - "I can not find my side", or after a week - "even though I search for my keywords, I can not find my page "and so on. This is because the above problem, you need to have a lot of patience regarding the SEO, and indexing takes time.

What is SEM?
SEM or Search Engine Marketing, includes the use of both SEO and paid searches, such as pay per click (PPC) listings (Google Adwords) and advertisements. Most of the time, SEM strictly includes PPC campaigns and activities, but if you use both SEO and paid search, that falls under SEM efforts. Please check out our article about "What is SEM".
What is Backlinks? Do I need it?
Yes, you need it. Creating a high quality, natural and balanced backlink profile, is very important for your websites ranking. If you ignore the off-page SEO Link Development (aka Backlinks) - then you may never get high rankings.
How many backlinks do I need?

What is a Landing Page?
A landing Page, is often a page on your website that is built for conversion objectives. In other words, a landing page should be designed, written and developed with a business purpose in mind. Any page on your website can be used or describe as a Landing Page.
What are Page Titles & Meta Description tags?
Page Titles are one of the best ways to define what a particular URL-Page contains for the search engines and needs to be optimized properly for a page to rank for a specific keyword.
The Meta Description also helps browsers and Search Engines understand what your sites pages are about. This is also an opportunity to put some text in front of the potential visitor on the SERP to entice them to click on your site.
What is PageRank and is it important?
No one is completely certain as to the ‘exact’ science of how PageRank is formulated, but it is understood that a number of elements such as a websites age, number of backlinks, and amount of content are used to formulate it.
The importance of PageRank is becoming less and less important than before, but still regarded slightly important.
But, please do not be thinking about PageRank as your primary metric for valuing link prospects.

Is PageRank the same as Domain Ranking?
PageRank is for pages - NOT Domains. This is a classical error. So, when you hear someone say, "I have a PageRank 6 domain," they do not understand it. There is no such thing as a PageRank 6 domain. There is a domain whose home page may indeed have a PageRank score of 6, but that is measuring that home page's link importance and that home page's PageRank, not the importance of the domain as a whole.
